Assistant Estimator – Solihull

I’m working with an established specialist contractor who are looking to add an Assistant Estimator to their commercial team.
This is a good opportunity for someone with around 1–2 years’ experience in estimating who is looking to progress their career and gain further experience within the commercial construction sector.
The role will involve supporting the estimating team with:
- Reviewing incoming enquiries and project information
- Assisting with tenders and pricing
- Measuring from drawings
- Obtaining prices from suppliers and subcontractors
- Preparing estimates and supporting tender submissions
- Reviewing drawings and specifications
- Working closely with the wider commercial team
- Developing knowledge of construction costs and procurement
The ideal candidate will have:
- Around 1–2 years’ experience in construction estimating
- Experience within interiors, fit-out or a related construction environment would be beneficial
- Good numerical and analytical ability
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- A relevant construction qualification would be advantageous but is not essential
