Welder - Rolling Stock
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Welder to join a major rolling stock client and work on an exciting fleet.
The company provides welding services for the rail industry, this includes welding of structural components on rail vehicles using various methods. Equipment used includes MIG welders but also Oxyacetylene and plasma cutters.
The Welder role is with a company who are dedicated to growing and diversifying, through flexibility, partnership, collaboration with a forward-thinking can-do approach.
Key responsibilities for this Welder role:
- Cutting out sections
- Preparing the work area
- Welding in structural components by following verbal and written instructions.
- Advise and inform of any defects found in the course of your duties.
- Complete necessary paperwork according to Depot Procedures and adhere to such procedures.
Experience required for this Welder role:
- Minimum NVQ level 2 or equivalent In Welding or similar qualification or Time served apprenticeship or equivalent at NVQ Level 3
- Trained in problem solving techniques, root cause analysis and team working.
- Ability to work to a high level of detail and precision.
- Ability to follow technical instruction both written and verbal.
Desirable experience for this Welder role:
- Not essential - NVQ Level 3 in non-core trade i.e. Engineering Maintenance/Production or equivalent qualification.
- Experience in an engineering environment
- Rail industry experience is not essential.
Package offered for this Welder role:
- £25ph
- £65 a day allowance for travel/accommodation
- Monday to Friday shift pattern
- Opportunity for overtime work
