Senior Quantity Surveyor

Job Description

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a Tier 1 Main Contractor based in Brackley and work on one Europe's largest infrastructure projects. The role requires an SQS who can work with autonomy and provide support to the junior members of the team. 

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be accountable for the delivery of commercial management services for individual projects.

Experience in FRC (Formwork, Reinforcement, Concrete) and groundworks would be beneficial for this Senior Quantity Surveyor role. Someone with a road/highways background will be particularly suitable for this role.

Key responsibilities for this Senior Quantity Surveyor role:
- Preparation of internal commercial reporting and any other reports which may be required.
- NEC Options A, B, and C experience.
- Experience in self-delivery projects.
- Able to manage direct labour, plant, materials, and subcontract costs.
- Clear communications skills and the ability to liaise with all parts of the supply chain and stakeholders.
- IT skills and particular competence in MS Office Excel.
- Strong CVR reporting and forecasting experience with the ability to project future trends.
- Preparation and/or review of monthly cost reports with contractually compliant supporting documentation.
- Administration of subcontractor/supplier accounts from the preparation of detailed requisitions, monitoring and authorisation of subcontract payments through to agreement of final accounts.
- Undertake contract administration, including change management.
- Challenge & manage cost control / cost mitigation.
- Be responsible for maintaining auditable records
- Undertake any other work as required of you by your line manager.

Who are we looking for?
- Experience in the Rail sector.
- Experience in FRC (Formwork, Reinforcement, Concrete) and groundworks would be beneficial.
- Degree qualified or equivalent qualification in relevant field.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Excellent working knowledge of industry standard forms of contract, in particular the Network Rail suite.
- Work collaboratively and utilise influence to gain results.
- Demonstrate initiative in resolving problems.

- Additional subsistence and travel allowances.
- Based four days a week in Brackley, Northants. One day a week at home.
