£55,000 - £63,000 dependant on experience plus:

Overview

An international principal railway contractor is seeking a Mechanical & Electrical CRE to manage a framework of Network Rail projects across the Southern Region - (Wessex, Kent & Sussex)

Projects include

- Station Rewires
- CCTV Installations
- Electrical modifications in equipment rooms
- Utility Works

To be suitable for the position you will have;

- Extensive knowledge and practical experience in M&E Construction techniques and processes such as in Station Re-wire schemes
- Network Rail project experience
- Proven experience / competence in delivering and managing 18th edition electrical works
- Previous experience in the Southern Region (Kent, Sussex, and Wessex)
- Previously signed off as an M&E CRE
- Personal Track Safety card holder
- IT skills essential - word, excel and power point, email, projects and internet

Desirable

- Degree qualified in a relevant discipline or other similar qualifications.

Accountabilities

- To plan and undertake briefings on engineering issues - specific to M&E.
- To assist with engineering initiatives
- To assist the Project Manager with engineering competence assessments.
- To undertake M&E (construction) duties (subject to nomination and authorisation)
- To contribute to all necessary engineering documentation (programmes, WPP, TB's etc.)
- To review all necessary engineering site documentation (programmes, WPP, TB's etc.)
- Identify any deviations from any standards (e.g. Network Rail Standards) and submit applications for derogations where appropriate.
- Support the CEM in the discharge of their role duties including Construction Design Management (CDM) compliance and the clients Common Safety Method Risk Assessment (CSM-RA) and Hazard Log.
- Identify Residual hazards on the design and highlight them on the drawings and hazard log.
- To ensure that critical engineering processes, such as CDM, CSM, (etc.) are appropriately managed and resourced within the M&E engineering team.
- To ensure that critical project engineering documentation (such as the WPP, TB's, Permits, etc.) has appropriate resource and attention allocated to it to facilitate quality and timely completion and compliance.
- To actively participate in, and engage with, external (e.g. ORR, Client) and internal audits.
