Site Health and Safety Advisor - Remote / Site
Summary
Due to a period of rapid growth within the business, a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation specialising in the delivery of high quality environmental and civil engineering solutions is looking to hire a Regional Health and Safety Advisor to provide site/project based technical and administrative support as part of the HSE team
This role is based on sites throughout the UK and so you will be expected to reliably travel between locations and stay overnight when required. (fully paid for)
Responsibilities
- Working with all site/project delivery teams to provide HSE documentation, advice, support and training on all aspects of health & safety compliance and issues affecting all our sites/projects.
- Coaching, mentoring & monitoring health & safety practices on all sites/projects and advising site management on improving their health & safety standards.
- Completing site/project health & safety inspections/audits and discussing findings and recommendations with site management.
- Supporting sites/projects with incident management including incident investigations.
- Supporting sites/projects with specific health & safety enquires, guidance, solutions, training, risk assessment, method statement and safe systems of work.
- Design and implementation of company-wide initiatives to improve health & safety awareness.
- Developing innovative health & safety solutions, e.g., 'Together Safer', behavioural safety, and plant & equipment technologies.
- Advising and assisting with audits and accreditations.
- Liaising with other health & safety specialists, regulators and client representatives.
- Contributing to written bids for new contracts and awards.
Candidate Specification
- Minimum NEBOSH General/Construction Certificate.
- Technical/Certified member of IOSH (and working towards chartered status).
- Minimum 2-3 years working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 civil engineering contractor.
- Highly developed professional communication skills, including writing and presentation of reports, investigations, preparing relevant documents, and participating in a range of meetings.
- Be able to confidently and effectively communicate with all levels of the workforce, contractors, clients and regulatory bodies.
- Be self-motivated, focused, reliable, well-organised, flexible and possess good team working ethic.
- Enthusiastic about health & safety issues and constantly use own initiative.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Possess strong computer literacy, including good working knowledge of the full Microsoft Office suite.
- Travel & work at various sites across the UK (including overnight stays).
- Full UK driving licence.
