Senior Bridge Engineer

Our client currently has an opening for a Senior Bridge Engineer based in one of their Southern Ontario offices.

Responsibilities:

- Providing Project Management of bridge & structural engineering related assignments.
- Providing engineering design, assessment, analysis and support, structural inspection, and reporting.
- Focusing on bridges, culverts, buildings, water retaining structures, ancillary structures, and other structures in support of our linear infrastructure requirements.
- Finalizing project deliverables and preparation of contract documents.
- Leading proposal preparation, marketing, business development and client engagement.
- Providing resident engineering services as required.
- Delivering projects and tasks on budget and within identified schedules.
- Engaging in a collaborative work environment with the team, as well as other disciplines and offices.


Requirements:

- Minimum completion of Undergraduate degree in Civil or Structural engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), with PEO.
- 7+ year of progressive structural / bridge design experience in Canada.
- Broad sound knowledge in bridges and structural engineering concepts and techniques.
- Technical expertise in the design, rehabilitation, and construction of bridges.
- Proficient working knowledge of CHBDC, OSIM and MTO's Structural Rehabilitation Manual.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and support bridge design and rehabilitation projects.
- Demonstrated experience with writing and assembling contract documents and tender packages for bridge and structural related projects in Ontario.
- Demonstrated experience with technical specification development and report writing, is an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, prioritization, analytical thinking & problem-solving skills, attention to detail, organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Results oriented and ability to work under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and other consultants.
- Developing experience in business development and growth (in public sector).
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor and build effective teams.
- Ability to work efficiently individually and in a team.
- Strategic thinker with the demonstrated ability to effectively solve problems
- Maintain strict confidentiality and integrity.
- Applied proficiency in applicable bridge and structural engineering software applications, including structural analysis software.
