About the Role
As a Geotechnical Engineer you will support the delivery of geotechnical design across a range of infrastructure and structural projects.
You will gain exposure to both temporary and permanent works design, working closely with senior engineers while developing your technical capability and progressing towards chartership.
This role would suit someone currently working in a consultancy who is looking for more hands-on project exposure and a clearer development pathway.
The key responsibilities for this Geotechnical Engineer role are:
- Support the delivery of geotechnical design across temporary and permanent works
- Assist with civil and structural engineering design input
- Contribute to technical reports and design documentation
- Carry out site inspections and geotechnical surveys
- Support feasibility studies and option assessments
- Work alongside senior engineers to deliver projects to programme
- Assist in reviewing design outputs and calculations
- Support the wider team across project delivery
Experience required for this Geotechnical Engineer role are:
- Degree qualified in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering
- 2-4 years' experience within a geotechnical or civil engineering consultancy
- Understanding of geotechnical design principles
- Experience contributing to technical reports and calculations
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Working towards chartership with ICE or similar
Desirable knowledge, skills and experience for this Geotechnical Engineer role are:
- Experience working within consultancies such as Atkins, WSP, Jacobs, AECOM or similar
- Exposure to rail, infrastructure or structural projects
- Familiarity with geotechnical design software
- Full UK driving licence
