Façade Manager

In a Nutshell…

We have a new opportunity for a Façade Manager to join our team at our site in Reading. As a Façade Manager, you will help with the day-to-day delivery of site-based project or remedial work. You will assist in the control and delivery of construction projects to meet customer specifications (safety, quality, time, etc.) such that all risk, specification, and project objectives are met in full. To assist and when required, deputies for the Project Manager to effectively motivate, support and manage the site-based team to ensure that the required health, safety and environmental performance standards are achieved. To achieve the programme and quality requirements. You will promote the importance of customer relationships to the site-based team to include directly employed and sub-contracted staff.  Complete all relevant paperwork as required.

  • Minimum 3 years experience as a Site Manager managing envelope packages preferably in residential construction.
  • Experience of managing envelope packages to hand over

Desirable –

  • NVQ Level 3-4 BTEC diploma in Building Construction or similar
  • Valid First Aid at Work Certificate
  • Managing all aspects of the build process
  • Up to date knowledge of Health and Safety obligations and building legislation

More about the Façade Manager role…

  • To lead and implement Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) management System, policy and procedures.
  • Have the ability to self-Plan, self -manage and coordinate the operational resource (staff, sub- contractors, suppliers)
  • Have the ability to self-Plan, self -manage and coordinate the operational resource (staff, sub- contractors, suppliers)
  • Produce realistic short range target programmes and execute with trade contractors to ensure contract programme dates are achieved.
  • Monitor and record progress against project programmes including reporting against construction and ORPC schedules
  • Ensure the contractors employed organise the workforce so that they are fully occupied and working towards clear objectives and to the required safety & quality standards.
  • Chair and minute weekly sub-contractor progress meeting
  • Build strong relationships with Contractors and Third parties.
  • Monitor dimensional control procedures and record QA and defect records via Total Quality Management (TQM)
  • Understand and build the design criteria for housing and relevant standards i.e. Code of Practice, Housing Standards, Building Regulations, 3rd party Warranty requirements and standard building details in force at the time
  • Ensure site security and good practice is always maintained
  • Ensure that quality of finished product accords with company and warranty providers expectations. Ensuring that site management inspect all units and works areas under construction on a daily basis and complete Quality control stage checklists as necessary
  • Ensure all site relevant administration is carried out in accordance with TQM procedures
  • Ensure that the presentation of the site and welfare accommodation is at its best by daily inspections and check compliance with temporary works layout
  • Undertake safety inspections and participate in combined inspections, clearing issues swiftly and reporting closure to senior management
  • Ensure that all relevant safety documentation and safe systems of work are reviewed and accepted before works commence and daily site diary is kept up to date.
  • Carry out site inductions
  • Ensure that the incidents and accidents are reported, recorded, investigated and lessons learnt implemented
  • Always represent professionally in both personal appearance and conduct
  • Carry out any other reasonable tasks in accordance with operation needs as requested by your manager
