Electrical Designer

Our client is a building consulting firm located in the North York area and they are looking for a skilled Electrical Designer to join their team. The Electrical Designer must have previous building consulting experience and a strong understanding of REVIT software. This Electrical Designer role is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to gain valuable hands-on work experience in a dynamic, team-based working environment. Responsibilities for the Electrical Designer:

- Preparing CAD drawings using AutoCAD and BIM using Revit
- Organizing and maintaining a design and CAD/BIM digital file
  database for each project
- Successfully carrying out design/project assignments as directed
- Performing site investigations and field reviews
- Attending site meetings and liaising with clients/contractors
- Preparing detailed design of conceptual plan provided by the
  Engineer
- Review and application of knowledge of relevant building codes
  and standards
- Review and/or preparation of power distribution layout and
  electrical equipment sizing
- Review and/or preparation of electrical system loads, electrical
  panel schedules, single line diagrams
- Review and/or preparations of lighting layouts and lighting
  photometric calculations
- Review and/or preparation of fire alarm layouts

Qualifications for the Electrical Designer:

- Current in-depth knowledge of Ontario Building Code, Ontario
Fire Code, Canadian Electrical Code/Ontario Electrical Safety Code
and CSA standards

Demonstrated experience in:

- power distribution layouts
- calculating electrical system loads, electrical panel schedules and
  single line diagrams
- designing lighting layouts and lighting photometric calculations
- designing fire alarm and life safety layouts
- preparing technical electrical specifications
- preparing technical reports (feasibility studies, life cycle analyses,
  condition assessments etc.)
