I am currently on the lookout for an Electrical Commissioning Engineer for a role in Frankfurt, Germany. I am acting on behalf of a well-established Electrical Subcontractor who operate within Germany on major Pharmaceutical & Data Centre projects.
This is an opportunity to join a company who has projects commencing throughout Germany with exponential growth in their Mission Critical Divisions.
Key Responsibilities of this Electrical Commissioning Engineer Role:
- Plan and execute electrical commissioning activities for industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
- Review electrical drawings, specifications, and commissioning procedures.
- Perform pre-commissioning inspections and verify installation quality.
- Conduct functional testing of electrical equipment and systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults during commissioning.
- Verify compliance with project specifications and applicable codes.
- Perform or supervise testing of: o Low Voltage (LV) systems o Medium Voltage (MV) systems o Switchgear o Transformers o Protection relays o Motor Control Centers (MCC) o Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) o UPS systems o Emergency generators o Earthing and lightning protection systems o Control panels o Motors and instrumentation interfaces.
- Prepare commissioning procedures and method statements.
- Complete commissioning checklists and test records.
- Produce commissioning reports.
- Record punch list items and monitor close-out.
- Prepare handover documentation and as-built information.
- Coordinate with: o Project Managers o Site Managers o Construction teams o Instrumentation and Control Engineers o Mechanical Commissioning Engineers o Client representatives o Vendors and subcontractors
- Ensure all commissioning activities comply with HSE requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments and toolbox talks where required.
- Apply Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures.
- Ensure compliance with company Quality Management System (QMS).
- Promote a strong safety culture on site.
Essential Criteria for this Electrical Commissioning Engineer Role:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in: o Electrical Engineering o Power Engineering o Electrical and Electronic Engineering Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical commissioning.
- Experience commissioning industrial or commercial electrical installations.
- Experience working on construction or EPC projects is preferred.
- Experience with factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT) is an advantage. Technical Skills The successful candidate should have experience with: Electrical commissioning procedures.
