The Opportunity
We are working with a leading infrastructure and civil engineering contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their established commercial team in Birmingham.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor with a solid civils background to join a major, long-term development programme and continue building their commercial career within an experienced team.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience working as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, alongside a background in civil engineering.
The Role
You will support the commercial management of major civil engineering works, working closely with the project and commercial teams across cost management, procurement, valuations, forecasting, change and subcontract management.
This is a great opportunity for an AQS who is looking to take on increased responsibility and develop their experience across a significant programme of works.
About You
We are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor with:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience working as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor.
- Previous experience within civil engineering or civils.
- A good understanding of commercial and contractual processes.
- Experience supporting cost management, valuations, procurement and subcontract management.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A commercially minded and proactive approach.
- The ambition to develop and progress within a growing commercial team.
- NEC experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
