An established and growing commercial refurbishment and fit-out contractor is looking to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team in Leicestershire.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with around 2-3 years' experience who is looking to develop their commercial knowledge, gain wider project exposure and build a long-term career within a growing business.
Working across live refurbishment and fit-out projects, you will gain hands-on experience across procurement, valuations, subcontractor management, variations, cash flow and cost control.
Key Responsibilities:
-    Break estimates down into commercial packages and procure subcontractors within agreed budgets.
-    Manage subcontractor relationships, commercial terms and valuations.
-    Prepare monthly client valuations and issue contractual notices where required.
-    Remeasure site works against client bills.
-    Manage project cash flow and maintain accurate forecasts.
-    Manage variations, including build-ups, valuations, Buildm8 and client PO values.
-    Maintain accurate commercial records across live projects.
-    Manage materials lists and monitor spend to identify potential savings.
-    Support the commercial sign-off process, with responsibility increasing as your experience develops.
About You:
-    Around 2-3 years' experience as a Junior or Assistant Quantity Surveyor.
-    Ideally have experience within commercial fit-out, refurbishment or interiors.
-    Commercially aware with good attention to detail.
-    Confident dealing with subcontractors and suppliers.
-    Not afraid to challenge costs, ask questions or say no when something doesn't look right.
-    A degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying would be desirable, but is not essential for the right candidate.
-    Proactive, organised and keen to learn.
