​What is a Signalling Engineer?

In a rail environment, signalling engineering enables operators to regulate the movement of trains on the network with minimum conflict or delay. A signalling engineer will choose to specialise in design, construction, maintenance or project management. 

What are the typical daily duties for a Signalling Engineer?

From employer to employer and project to project the job description of a Signalling Engineer can vary, however typical duties and activities undertaken include:

  • Undertake independent checks of the signalling detail design as per relevant standards and Signalling Design Specifications

  • Performing complex railway signal design tasks to relevant standards, industry codes and practices

  • Interacting with key internal and external stakeholders to achieve optimum outcome

  • Provide functional support and guidance to junior Design staff for all aspects of Signalling Design

  • Assist in the risk assessment of planned and completed designs

Creek rehabilitation which includes complete landscape and restoration of Laurel from Regina Street to Weber Street.

Expected start: Spring 2021

Expected completion: Summer 2021

Lorindale Street

Completion of 2020 road surface asphalt road reconstruction and waterman looping on Lorindale Street (full length of the street) from Colonial Public School to Denholm Street.

Expected start: Spring 2021
